I haven't visited this extra ordinary foundation yet, but it is on my list for 2024 and I will give you even more insights afterwards.
The mission of Dhammajarinee Witthaya School in Thainland is powerful: Provide a safe home and quality education, kindergarten to grade 12, for underserved girls in Thailand—helping break the cycle of poverty and a lack of opportunity.

Problem‍

In Thailand, 22% of children live in multidimensional poverty, and a significant percentage of high school students drop out, especially girls, putting them at risk of human trafficking, violence, and early marriage. Additionally, the country faces a shortage of skilled workers in digital services, exacerbating the disparity in opportunities.

Solution‍

Dhammajarinee Witthaya School (DWS) provides a safe home and 21st-century education, including digital skills and STEM training, to underserved girls. This breaks the cycle of poverty and exploitation, empowering girls for self-sufficient futures and contributing to Thailand's progress.

Impact‍

DWS has educated over 4,000 girls, covering all expenses and offering holistic education, resulting in 90% of graduates attending college, a remarkable feat given the low higher education rates among low-income families in Thailand. Dr. Aunampai Passakchai, the school's director, has received numerous awards for her outstanding dedication to girls' education.

The foundation's vision is to equip every underserved girl in Thailand with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary to thrive in the 21st-century world. By investing in education rooted in Thai culture, the foundation aims to cultivate compassionate leaders, critical thinkers, and responsible global citizens who can contribute positively to society.
